VanDam to headline the Ultimate Fishing Show — Detroit



Michigan’s Kevin VanDam, considered by some to be the best bass angler in the world, will be at the Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit on Friday January 11.

The Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit, entirely dedicated to Michigan fishing, will take place January 10-13 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Over 25,000 anglers visit the Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit each year.

VanDam is expected to headline the seminar lineup with an appearance on Fridays only.

Michigan native and TV show host Mark Zona will also make an appearance on Friday only. Bass fishing experts and seminar speakers Joe Thomas, Captain Wayne Carpenter and Gerry Gostenik will also provide advice and entertainment over the four days of the show.

The golden side of the seminar lineup includes Mark Martin, a Michigan native, member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, TV show host Mark Romanack, “Walleye Woman” Marianne Huskey and Captain Lance. Valentine.

Other speakers include Brian “Bros” Brosdahl (ice fishing), Jim Bedford (river fishing), Mike Schultz (fly fishing), Roger Hinchcliff (steelhead), Captain Kevin Backus (muskies), Captain Jake Romanack (Great Lakes), Chris LeMessurier (kayaks), Dan Armitage (fishing for kids), Kyle Polesky (fly fishing for pike), Capt. David Domka (pole fishing) and Capt. Joel Piatek (Lake St. Clair).

The event will once again feature an ice fishing extravaganza, with a collection of more ice fishing gear than any other show in Michigan, including a Shanty Truck Load Sale.

The Ultimate Walleye Clinic runs from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Ultimate Bass Clinic from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and the Ultimate Salmon Clinic from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Want to attend the show for free? On Thursday, January 10, admission is free for patrons bringing six cans / boxes or four pounds of non-perishable food to donate to the annual Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger Food Drive campaign. Food will be collected by volunteers from local conservation organizations and donated to the Red Cross and food banks in the area.

The show hours are Thursday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $ 12 for adults, $ 5 for ages 6-14 and free for ages 5 and under. On-site parking is $ 5.
