Third annual New Year by the lake, December 31 at four sites. The event includes a five-course dinner (gluten-free and vegan options available) in the Greysolon Ballroom with Maxi Childs Trio performing during dinner, followed by a Jack Willhite comedy at the NorShor Theater. Then return to the Greysolon Ballroom for Big Wave Dave and the Ripples or Laura Velvet in the Moorish Room with their elegant musical presentation of everything from Motown to modern. The Black Water Lounge will feature DJ Cory Bonneville play the greatest dance hits from the 50s to today. Enjoy balloon drops, a champagne toast and gifts at midnight in all three rooms as well as a photo booth. All New Years items by the lake are indoors and fully accessible via the skywalk system. Glensheen Self-Guided Christmas Tours until January 8. Find 25 hidden Christmas trees and over 25 hidden elves. In addition to the 25 Good Elves, the 25 Baddest Elves lurked in even more devious places throughout the mansion. The 25 Naughty Elves can be found on a Full Mansion tour while the 25 Kind Elves can be found on a Classic or Full Mansion tour. Guests who find the 25 Good Elves or 25 Bad Elves will be presented with a stunning temporary tattoo claiming their “Master of the Elf Hunt” status at the end of their visit. Starting Friday, November 26, guests will have the chance to experience Glensheen’s Christmas decor in the evening. Self-guided candlelight evenings and the beloved Spirit of the Lights outdoor exhibit will launch on Black Friday. Access to the Spirit of the Lights Outdoor Exhibition is free and open to the public, no reservations or tickets are required to attend the Outdoor Light Exhibition.
