Global production and distribution studio, The story lab and Japan’s leading entertainment network, Fuji Television Network Inc. (Fuji TV), announced details of their new entertainment format, The rotationthe first title launched by their recently announced global strategic co-development alliance.

An exciting new twist on the studio’s physical game show, The rotation is a simple yet extremely entertaining format; filled with hilarious challenges, dizzying high-energy gameplay, and non-stop surprises. The perfect viewing solution for the whole family.

A team of five players must move on to The Spin, the massive spinning machine, competing individually in two-part challenges over a series of five rounds to collaboratively build and win their ultimate prize pool.

But there’s a twist…. In fact, there are several… in every game!…because the teams never know what will follow. Attached to Spin’s Iconic spinning game, resembling a giant gyroscope, our players are spun at varying speeds, bringing competitors into the play area to face their challenges without knowing how fast they will be spun or what challenge they will face next . The faster the rotation, the dizzier the competitors, the harder the challenges!

This highly anticipated project premiered in Japan on Fuji TV on the 23rdrd March 2021.

The Story Lab and Fuji TV are now bringing The rotation on the international market for the first time in October, MIPCOM 2021.

It was jointly developed by the two companies, working with top UK producer and long-time Story Lab partner, Rumpus Media. The adaptation and international roll-out will be handled by The Story Lab, with Rumpus Media retaining UK production rights.

This partnership is the latest example of The Story Lab leveraging its global network and relationships to meet the ever-growing market demand for exciting and distinctive Asian-inspired unscripted content.

Fotini Paraskakis, Global MD Content for The Story Lab comments: “We are thrilled that this project is now launching this MIPCOM.
