Keke Palmer launches her own TV channel

Keke Palmer reminds us once again that she can do anything – and then some. On September 30, the star announced that she would be launching her own digital network called Key TV, aiming to spotlight “a new generation of creators.”

In a post shared on social media on Friday morning, the 2022 TIME100 Next winner introduced the world to Key TV by introducing herself again.

“Hi, I’m Lauren Palmer,” Keke says in the video as a lookalike joins her onscreen. “And this is Keke Palmer, the brand I started 20 years ago all the way back to Illinois with my mom. During these 20 years, I have learned to be certain things.

In a few clever sketches, Keke takes us through his career path. The 29-year-old multi-hyphenate has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as an actress, singer, screenwriter, director and one more role she considers the most important of all: a collaborator.

“I want to share everything I’ve learned with you, because it’s my biggest dream,” Keke says as he sits in a director’s chair. “It only takes one of us to unlock a door to unlock a million doors for each other. I am thrilled to introduce you to Key TV, where our stories matter and where we are portrayed as the keys to culture .

The video ends with the Key TV logo flashing green and blue neon sign. Key TV is described as “a company run by Keke Palmer” across all of its social media channels and already has a presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube. While no further information has been released on what kind of content will live on Key TV or when it will officially launch, it’s safe to assume that Keke will champion inclusive and diverse stories.

Keke Palmer is a media titan, with a legacy that includes music, hosting, film, television, and stage roles. In the spring of 2021, the superstar signed an overall TV deal with Entertainment One. “I am thrilled to partner with eOne to create entertaining, meaningful and fun television experiences that will deeply connect with audiences and reflect our current world,” Palmer said at the time, per Variety. Now, with Key TV, Keke takes another step towards building his media empire. We will certainly be listening.
