Atlantic City Boat Show, World Fishing & Outdoor Expo open their doors to visitors

The Atlantic City Boat Show kicked off at the Atlantic City Convention Center on February 27 and will run through Sunday March 3 with over 500 boats to suit all budgets and lifestyles, plus an array of hands-on activities.

Highlights of the show include:

  • Super Thursday, returns Feb. 28 to offer attendees even bigger savings on the best in boating, plus $ 5 off after 5 p.m. on tickets, discounted parking, specials on food and drink and Exclusive freebies ranging from concert tickets to hotel stays, restaurant certificates and more from Meet CA!   • Go fishing on Friday is a brand new fishing tournament where fishing fanatics can compete on the new virtual reality fishing simulator from 5:00 p.m. on Friday March 1st. Watch the fishing pros battle for the title of “Top Angler” and visitors can enter the tournament for a chance to win a new YETI Cooler. The event will also include fish fry, fishing seminars and the show will showcase an array of fishing boats and productss.
  • #ACBoatShow treasure hunt is the first ever social media scavenger hunt #ACBoatShow, where giveaways ranging from new fishing rods and lures to boating gear and accessories will be hidden throughout the show every weekday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with clues posted on Instagram @acboatshow every day. Be the first to find a prize and win!
  • Nautical careers day will take place on Thursday, February 28, inviting local students from high schools, colleges and business schools in New Jersey and Philadelphia to participate in introductory and question-and-answer sessions with a diverse mix of factory leaders at the executive office to discuss boating career paths, jobs in marine technology, operating ships on the job and how to get hired in the boating industry.
  • Progressive nautical club is back this year, offering participants hands-on boating lessons for all experience levels taught by experts from the Annapolis School of Seamanship. Visitors can also try out the Progressive Oculus Rift virtual reality experience, taking the helm of a virtual boat race.
  • Family fun features include extension Touch-A-Boat Tour, offering small skippers the chance to win prizes while exploring the salon. Other features include the paddle sports pool, Children create a boat and Sand art with John Gowdy.

Also this week, the Progressive® Insurance World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition 2019, presented by Stihl, celebrates 42 years as the Northeast’s largest fishing, hunting and travel event, and opens February 28. Back in Suffern, New York’s Rockland Community College, the annual show runs until Sunday, March 3.

The 2019 World Fishing and Outdoor Expo has more than 250 confirmed exhibitors, selling a range of products from the boating, kayaking, fishing, hunting and travel industries. The show also offers daily free seminars covering a variety of outdoor topics – from saltwater and freshwater fishing to big game hunting – led by nationally recognized experts.

To help attract more participants and outdoor enthusiasts of all experience levels, spectators can enjoy a variety of features this year, including the Fishing Simulator, Hawg Fishing Reservoir Trough with daily demonstrations from renowned experts, Family Day (Sundays) with a host of freebies and activities, and more.
