Atlantic City Show and World Fishing Expo Report Increase in Attendance for 2020
Concluding Sunday, two of NMMA’s east coast boat and sport shows ended their 2020 tour with reports of increased attendance and quality attendees.
First, the Atlantic City Progressive Insurance Boat Show hosted 41,736 people (up from 39,454 in 2019) at the Atlantic City Convention Center over five days, up 6% from 2019 and 8 % of the three-year average (38,740).
The Progressive Insurance World Fishing & Outdoor exhibition, held in Suffern, NY, also increased attendance with 16,473 attendees, up 2% from the 16,217 reported in 2019.
Highlights from both shows helped boost foot traffic and media interest. In Atlantic City, in particular, the five-day show was packed with activities for its attendees, such as the inclusion of the new Discover Boating (DBX) educational experience, Twiggy the Water Ski Squirrel, and Super Thursday specials. .
More so, the show also extended its annual Career Day in partnership with the NJ SkillsUSA competition. Over 100 students from 7 local schools participated in the day, with 6 official students entering the SkillsUSA competition – having the chance to show off their technical and boat maintenance skills in the hopes of representing the State of New Jersey at the national championships in March. .
The 2020 ProgressiveÂ® Insurance World Fishing and Outdoor Expo, to be held at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY, brought together over 250 fishing, boating and outdoor sports vendors, with more events and seminars this year to cater to both experienced outdoor enthusiasts and newcomers.
Other highlights include the fishing simulator, the popular 5,000 gallon Hawg Trough fishing demo tank, the âLive Birds of Preyâ exhibit, and more.
The Expo also partnered with local social media influencers, who helped promote the show through posts and stories, encouraging their followers to attend, including fishing fan favorite The Blonde. Angler.
